Fight back/Oddawaj

M. is old enough to remember times when people recounted anecdotes in the evening. A story told by her mother G.: there was a girl who insisted that she wouldn't listen to her man. Nobody wanted to marry her, but eventually someone did. “Make me a plate of pasta tagliatelli!” - He said the day after their wedding. There was nothing to eat when he was back home for dinner.

He slapped her in the face. “I want spaghetti carbonara!” - He said the second day. Young wife wouldn't obey, and was beaten with the belt. „Make me ravioli!” - The husband asked the third day but again there was dinner. He hit the girl with the stick breaking her arm, and called the doctor who asked 50 lire for treatment. „Take 100, it will be for the next time!” - The husband said.

No, let's take the rest! I'll make you ravioli tomorrow” - The wife protested. „Poor us, women! We're teaching our daughters that it's fine to be beaten!” - I observed. „She wasn't doing her job!” - M. insisted. Everyone seemed to agree with her, but I prefer the story of Lisbeth Salander. She knew how to say “no” to the men (and fought back if they were insisting).

„Biedne my, kobiety.
