Edna Krabappel

I envy those couples who do everything together!” - My mother used to say. Witnessing of her rocky marriage I got convinced that couple's life is sort of tragedy. But some people knew how to make it work. I met P. and his wife B. few weeks ago. The small apartament is full of race photography: running is their passion, they partecipate in marathons.

I looked at the pictures: P. and his wife have nice custom, they would finish every race holding their hands. They smile and give each other a tender look. After forty years togheter they're extremely commited and (I have no doubt) want they marriage to last forever. Are common values the indespensable ingredient to make everything work?

I remember the cartoon I saw when I was small: school pupils are watching two rabbits' hooneymon. They are like: „Wow!” Their teacher is smiling sarcastically. „Most of you will never fall in love, but will marry out of fear of dying alone!” - Edna Krabappel says. Could be, but staying in bad marriage isn't a cure for loneliness.
