Living in Basilicata, I see what it means "mamma italiana". It's all about serving, their parenting responsibility won't end when their children become adults. Whether they are married or not, mamma is ready to to fulfill everyday needs of her “children”. Helicopter mother “is extremely involved in their child's every experience. 

 

 “They are so named because, like helicopters they hover overhead.” The trend isn't good for the mothers and their children, anyway. "Helicopter mother" may think that to be better mum, she needs to sacrifice her own life and mental health. But it leaves her very often depressed. And when it comes to the child, the "intensive" parenting may have opposite effect.

Mieszkając w Basilicacie, widzę co znaczy "mamma italiana". Służy swoim dzieciom, rodzicielska odpowiedzialność nie kończy się, gdy dorosną. Wchodzą w związki czy nie, mamma jest zawsze gotowa zaspokoić potrzeby „dzieciaków”. Matka – helikopter “chce być skrajnie włączona w każde doświadczenie dziecka”.

Nazywa się tak, bo jak helikopter krąży wokół potomstwa.” Trend nie jest dobry dla matek i ich dzieci. "Matka helikopter" może uważać, że aby być lepszą mamą, powinna poświęcić własne życie i higienę umysłową. Często prowadzi to do depresji.
