A post from Facebook group for writers: „The novel manuscript of my third book lies in a drawer. The lack of founds is the reason why I'm counting on supporters”. Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project by raising contributions from a large number of people. „Do you want publish a book? Use the potential of crowfundind!” - PolakPotrafi.pl suggest.
About three years ago writer Paweł Pollak started the controversy over self-publishing. At the time I didn't really differentiate it from vanity press, but I was quite convinced that landing traditional publisher deal is almost impossible for first-time author – and that paying to get published is „normal” for a new writer.
That's why Łukasz Kotkowski did. His poorly edited novel was available on Internet. He's blaming the lack of promotion and distribution for „Fanaberia's” failure. May his story make "a perfect example how NOT to publish"? No. The author who is „counting on supporters” did pay – twice, to publish his novels. Now he wants to try another publisher...
P.S. Happy Easter!
Post z grupy pisarskiej na Facebook: „Manuskrypt mojej trzeciej powieści leży w szufladzie. Brak własnych środków spowodował, że mogę liczyć tylko na osoby wspierające”. Crowdfunding to forma społecznego finansowania projektów. „Chcesz wydać swoją książkę? Wykorzystaj potencjał drzemiący w crowdfundingu!” - zachęca PolakPotrafi.pl.
