About
10 years ago, there was a nice big nursery school in the industrial
estate. Unfortunately, the building was quite old and it happened
that the roof started leaking water. The parents were concerned about
the well-being of their children: they complained, reporting the
situation to the government. Local authorities did the easiest thing.
They
roof was never fixed and the building had become a ruin. Many years
ago, Pisticci Scalo had “scuola media” – a school for 11 – 14
years old children. “Scuola media” closed, leaving empty
building, some 4 small class rooms. Local authorities displaced there
nursery school. Small children have to stay mostly in one room. They
have their lunch in another one.
The
little ones would be sitting behind the desk, playing with their toys
or drawing. Nobody cares, that those 3-5 years old need some more
place to play properly. Nevertheless that the weather in Italy is
nice and there is a lot of sun, the kids can only dream about playing
outside. There is no playground in their new “nursery”, of
course.
Jakieś
10 lat temu, osiedle przemysłowe posiadało porządne, duże
przedszkole. Niestety, budynek liczył sobie około czterdziestu lat:
pewnego razu rodzice zauważyli, że dach nie spełnia wymogów
bezpieczeństwa – wymagał naprawy. Rodzice, w trosce o zdrowie
swoich dzieci, zaczęli pisać skargi i zawiadomienia. Władze
szkolne zrobiły najłatwiejszą rzecz – nie naprawiono dachu i
budynek popadł w ruinę.
Dawno
temu, na osiedlu istniała “scuola media” – odpowiednik naszego
gimnazjum. “Scuola media” została zamknięta, pozostawiając
pusty budynek: około 4. małych salek. Lokalne władze przeniosły
tam przedszkole. Dzieci przebywają w jednej małej salce; posiłki
jedzą w drugiej, nieco większej.
