Putney School of Art and Design

I got an email from Putney School of Art and Design. It was about Summer and Autumn courses. My daughter was born in 2010; for a few months I was on Maternity Leave and wanted to do an “artistic” course. We were living in London so it wasn’t difficult to find. I went for Photoshop&Illustrator course at Putney School of Art. It wasn’t a good choice.

 

The course was for the beginners and I already knew something about the programs. It lasted two months and finished in November 2010. About one month later we were leaving London forever. I remember the Turkish taxi driver who took us to the airport. I asked him how long he’s living in London. “Ten years!” – He told me.

For a moment I was thinking that that’s the right way to do, one shouldn’t be leaving after a couple of years. But London was so big and dangerous, we had little child… Nova Siri was nothing like London, but since the beginning I was missing my job, the crowd at Morrisons supermarket, moving stairs. I was missing the life.

Otrzymałam email z Putney School of Art and Design. Dotyczył letnich i jesiennych kursów. Moja córka urodziła się w 2010 r.; przez parę miesięcy byłam na urlopie macierzyńskim i zapragnęłam zrobić jakiś „artystyczny” kurs. Mieszkaliśmy w Londynie, więc nie było to trudne. Wybrałam kurs Photoshop&Illustrator w Putney School of Art. Nie był to dobry wybór.

Kurs był dla początkujących, a ja coś już wiedziałam o tych programach. Kurs trwał 2 miesiące i skończył się w listopadzie 2010. Około miesiąca później opuszczaliśmy Londyn na zawsze. Pamiętam tureckiego taksówkarza, który zawiózł nas na lotnisko. Zapytałam go, jak długo mieszka w Londynie. „10 lat!” – powiedział.

Przez chwilę myślałam, że tak należy robić: człowiek nie powinien rzucać wszystkiego po dwóch latach... Ale Londyn był ogromny i niebezpieczny, a my mieliśmy małe dziecko... Nova Siri nie przypominała Londynu, ale początku brakowało mi pracy, tłumów w supermarkecie Morrisons, ruchomych schodów. Brakowało mi życia.
