Many would say that they’re getting bored with life in general. The days seem to be muddled together, like a never ending cycle. The more older we get, the more everything seems dull… How do you deal with it? Most of us is trying to manage this issue by distracting themselves through social media. Used properly, it can deliver provide an antidote to the boredom. People are interested in the intimate details of the lives of strangers – so there we are, looking at the YouTube video of someone who is doing his weekly shopping in the supermarket. The Youtuber has many, many views… Like the joke about modern art says: „You could have do that, but you never did.”

Someone else is posting the photos of his dog’s weekly bath, or the documenting an important doctor’s appointment. The Internet is full of photos that aren’t trying to make you jealous. People are brushing their teeth, or having some cake in a modest coffee shop… Those „boring” accounts are often having hundreds of thousands of followers. As for me, like they say, I don’t want to be a star, and just want to be an actress. I don’t aspire to such divine heights, like BTS member V aka Kim Taehyung, who apparently earns so much from an Instagram post! With his following of 61.8 million followers, he likely charges between $68,000 and $810,000 for one sponsored post…

I’m fascinated by the effect social media has on the people from all walks of life, from kids to the elderly. I think that the power of Internet is about to fullfil the secret dream of an individual: to have an impact on the others. Thanks to Facebook, TikTok and so on it has never been easier! A good attitude and a bit of language skills are more than enough. So there I am, writing about things that bother me: social media.

Wielu z nas jest znudzonych życiem. Dni wydają się łączyć w jedno, jak w niekończącym się cyklu. W miarę, jak robimy robimy się starsi, wszystko zdaje się coraz bardziej puste… Jak temu zaradzić? Nasz Youtuber ma wiele, wiele wyświetleń… Jak mówi żart na temat sztuki nowoczesnej: “Mogłeś sam tego dokonać, aleś nic nie zrobił.”

Ktoś inny dzieli się zdjęciami z cotygodniowej kąpieli swego pieska, albo dokumentuje ważną wizytę u lekarza. Internet jest pełen zdjęć, które nie próbują wywołać w tobie zazdrości. Ktoś myje zęby, albo kupuje ciastko w skromnej kawiarence… Te “nudne” profile mają często setki tysiące odwiedzających. Jeśli o mnie chodzi, jak to mówią, nie chce być gwiazdą, tylko aktorką. Nie aspiruję do takich wyżyn jak członek grupy BTS Kim Taehyung czyli V, który jak się wydaje zarabia ogromne pieniądze za wpis na Instagram! Mając 61.8 milionów osób, które go śledzą, wycenia prawdopodobnie swoje sponsorowane posty od 68,000 do 810,000 dolarów.

Fascynuje mnie efekt serwisów społecznościowych na ludziach, począwszy od dzieci na staruszkach kończąc. Myślę, że moc Internetu polega na spełnieniu marzenia jednostki o tym, by mieć wpływ na innych. Dzięki Facebook, TikTok i temu podobnym nigdy nie było to łatwiejsze! Wystarczy odrobina dobrych chęci i trochę umiejętności językowych. Tak oto piszę o tym, co mnie interesuje: serwisach społecznościowych.
