Half Naked and Covered in Children/Półnaga i pokryta dziećmi

One of my dad’s stories: once upon a time (World War II) there was a pretty girl in the village. She had curly hair, beautiful skin and amazing teeth. She got married at the age of 20. About 15 years and 8 children later, she was a toothless old woman. The strain of bringing up her kids in misery had taken her beauty away.

 

Stacie Turner photographed breastfeeding woman. The black and white pictures represent real moms’ experiences. They show the women often tired or juggling multiple children. The image Half Naked and Covered in Children, is Turner's favourite. “'My dear friend Heidi sitting on the ground in the park with one kid pulled off the nipple looking around”, she says.

“I think it's so representative of the chaos of being out with children and trying to keep everyone reasonably contained.' – Turner said. Loss beauty of personal freedom it’s a high price to pay. But for a woman being a mother is the best and most important job in the world.

Jedna z historii mojego ojca: dawno temu (II Wojna Światowa) była sobie piękna dziewczyna we wsi. Miała wijące się włosy, piękną cerę i wspaniałe zęby. Dziewczyna wyszła za mąż w wieku 20 lat. 15 lat i 8. dzieci później była bezzębną, starą kobietą. Wysiłek wychowania potomstwa w nędzy odebrał jej całą urodę.

Stacie Turner fotografowała karmiące kobiety. Czarno-białe zdjęcia pokazują prawdziwe doświadczenia kobiet. Widać matki często zmęczone opieką nad potomstwem. Zdjęcie „Półnaga i pokryta dziećmi” jest jej ulubionym. “Moja przyjaciółka Haidi siedząca na trawie w parku, z dzieckiem, które wyciąga sutek i się rozgląda”.

„Myślę, że doskonale oddaje chaos wyjścia na miasto z malcami i próbę utrzymania wszystkiego pod kontrolą.” – mówi Turner. Utrata urody i osobistej wolności to wysoka cena, ale dla kobiety bycie matką to najlepsza i najważniejsza praca na świecie.
